How to test affiliate settings and commission, if they are not working?

First, check the order status - a commission will show for an affiliate only when the order is shipped. If the order status is NOT set to shipped, then commission will not show.

Second, verify that the customer is an affiliate when the order was placed.

When a customer has been assigned under an affiliate:

  • Orders placed after assignment, will be calculated for commission
  • Orders placed before assignment, will not be applicable for commission

In addition, an affiliate gets commission on customers assigned under him/her, not on their own orders. If the affiliate would like to gain commission on their own orders, they need to open another customer account and assign that customer account under their affiliate account.
