How does the Abandon Shopping Cart work?

When a customer adds a product to the online shopping cart on site but doesn’t proceed to checkout, we refer to this as an abandoned shopping cart. Setting up automatic, personalized email messages to remind users they have items in their cart is often just the nudge they need to finish checking out, Webjaguar facilitates you with the exact same feature. Visit Admin >Configuration > Site Configuration.

Click on Scheduler Email Configuration (tab) and the following screen will then display Message 2.

 

There are two types of schedulers that can be used for the Abandoned Cart feature. Most common is to send a customer an email at the end of the day, who has added items to their cart but did not checkout. However an hourly routine is also available :

  1. One Hour:  This scheduler sends reminder email to the customers about the cart items, within one hour of leaving items in the cart. 

    (Ex: If the scheduler runs at 05:00 PM, it will send email to all the customers who have placed item in the cart between 02:30 PM and 04:00 PM).
     
  2. 24 Hours: This scheduler sends a reminder email to customers about the cart items, if customers have placed items in the cart within 24 hrs of the current time. 

    (Ex: Suppose, the scheduler runs at 05:00 PM, it will send email to all the customers who have placed item in the cart within 24hrs).
     
  3. IMPORTANT: Once you have made your selection, please contact support@webjaguar.com and have the team activate your scheduler. This will then send out the emails automatically to your clients

Creating your Abandoned Cart Email :

We now need to create a site message that can be used in conjunction with the above. This will form the email subject and body your client will see when they receive the email.

Visit Admin >Site Info > Site Message.

Click on the "abandon cart" message from the list.

The following screen will open up to edit the site message configurations – you can design this email to your desire. Contact the team for additional insights and information.

Clicking on the preview under the message box link will open a pop screen to provide a preview of the edited site message body.
